Does everyone get approved for the military star card? ›

The MILITARY STAR card and its benefits are exclusively available to military personnel and their families, DoD Civilians, Purple Heart recipients and Disabled Veterans and Veterans who received an Honorable or general under Honorable conditions discharge have online shopping privileges.

Administered by the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, the Military STAR® credit card provides fair and flexible terms to help service members and their families safely and affordably build credit. The card is accepted at all military exchanges and commissaries.

MILITARY STAR rewards cards cannot be credited to an Account, redeemed for cash, applied to a previous purchase or used for purchasing gift cards or e-gift cards.

When will I receive my MILITARY STAR Digital Rewards card? Your MILITARY STAR Digital Rewards card will be AUTOMATICALLY sent to your email address on file once you have earned 2,000 points. You can expect to receive your Digital Rewards card within 48 hours after your statement date.

ECP operates the MILITARY STAR program on behalf of the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines Corps and Coast Guard.

The STAR Card is accepted at on-base exchanges, commissaries, gas stations, uniform shops and mini marts. In addition to providing a line of credit there are many other benefits to the STAR card. The Military STAR card application can be found by visiting the Exchange Credit Program website.

Where Can I Use My Military Star Card. The Military Star Card is restricted to use only at base or post facilities. It can be used at any shops, stores, and food establishments run by AAFES, NEX, or the MCX.

If your monthly payment is not made, your account becomes delinquent. Your charge and check privileges and rewards may be suspended. Your unit commander may be notified and the delinquent balance may be involuntary collected.

Your MILITARY STAR Card payment history will be reported to the major credit bureaus. This will give you an opportunity to build your credit while you're an active member of the military. The MILITARY STAR Card can be used at Commissaries.
