Bacon Dust Everything Bagel Deviled Eggs are a showstopper appetizer that is budget-friendly and exceptional in flavor and presentation. If you want an appetizer to WOW your guests, make these deviled eggs now.
TheseBacon Dust Everything Bagel Deviled Eggs were the biggest hit at our fundraiser this past weekend.
I came up with this deviled egg recipe because we were on a tight budget, but I wanted to create a sophisticated appetizer. Eggs are one of the cheapest ingredients you can buy, but by dressing them up, you can really impress your guests.
The combination of bacon dust and Everything Bagel Spice not only created a visually beautiful deviled egg, but added great flavor and texture to the deviled eggs.
This is bacon dust – a great way to add bacon flavor with just a little sprinkle. It’s a great way to spread out the bacon flavor on these deviled eggs, instead of larger pieces of bacon as some deviled egg recipes use.
I used my Instant Pot to hard boil the eggs. It’s the only way I’ve consistently made hard boiled eggs that peel easily. Simply a cup of water in the bottom of the pot. Lay the eggs on the rack, and cook at high pressure 4 minutes. Then, let the pressure naturally release for 4 minutes before letting the rest of the pressure release.
Place the eggs in a bowl of ice water, crack them and peel. The shells peel right off.
Next, cut the eggs in half and remove the yolks.I made 80 of these Bacon Dust Everything Bagel Deviled Eggs for our party, but I’ve scaled down the recipe for smaller parties.
I made the deviled egg filling in my food processor. That’s the trick to achieving a super creamy, smooth deviled egg filling. Although you can use a fork, you won’t achieve the same silky smooth consistency.
I used a pastry bag to pipe the filling into the egg whites for a prettier presentation. It’s also faster to fill all the egg whites. If you don’t have a pastry bag, you can use a Ziploc bag or just use a spoon to fill the eggs.
You see the binder clips? That’s because I filled the bags the day before and didn’t want the filling to dry out.
These deviled eggs can be made ahead of time, which is a great idea if you’re making these for a party.
Do Ahead Tips for Deviled Eggs
- Make the hard boiled eggs up to 5 days in advance; store well covered.
- Make deviled egg filling one day before serving; store in pastry bag with the top of the bag clipped. Store filled pastry bag in a Ziploc bag.
- The morning of your party, pipe filling into egg white halves. Sprinkles with bacon dust, Everything Bagel Spice, and chives. Cover and store in refrigerator until ready to serve.
- Remove from refrigerator 30 minutes before serving to take the chill off.
I’m kind of obsessed with these Bacon Dust Everything Bagel Deviled Eggs. Can you tell?
