When you return CHEP pallets, everybody wins
At CHEP we own and reuse every single one of our pallets. We do this because it allows us to work together with customers to reduce emissions, keep wood waste out of landfill, boost reliability, save warehouse space and ultimately provide a better service to manufacturers and supply chains all around the world.
It’s a simple idea that benefits thousands of customers, but it relies on people like you returning CHEP pallets to us. When you pass pallets back to us, we check and repair them before passing them on to the next customer. And the same thing happens before you take delivery of any CHEP pallets. So, it’s clear that returning them is the right thing to do for yourself and supply chains everywhere.
Let’s work together to pass on the benefits and reap the rewards of returning CHEP pallets.
Why should I return pallets to CHEP?
What goes around comes around. Helping to return pallets helps to maintain a smooth pallet supply to manufacturers and retailers like yourselves. It’s all about working together to deliver more goods to more customers, whilst helping protect our planet.
More space
Give yourself more room to operate
Lower costs
Potentially reduce pass-through costs that impact the entire supply chain
Less waste
Reduce unnecessary waste and improve sustainability
Avoid penalties
Unauthorised use of CHEP pallets can result in expensive penalties and legal proceedings
Our pallets shouldn’t be sold
We own every blue CHEP pallet you see. No exceptions. So, it’s illegal to buy, sell, exchange, trade or discard CHEP pallets. If you find one, you can’t sell it, but you can help us collect it. Just to be clear, if you engage in any activity that’s inconsistent with CHEP’s ownership of its pallets and other property, you may face civil liability and/or criminal penalties or sanctions. Such activity may involve buying or accepting shipments of CHEP pallets without authorisation; selling, trading, exchanging or re-using CHEP pallets; refusing to allow CHEP to retrieve its pallets; or destroying CHEP pallets.
Our pallets should be easy to spot
They’re blue and they’re clearly marked as being the property of CHEP. We never sell or relinquish ownership of our pallets, so if it looks like a CHEP pallet, it probably is a CHEP pallet.
