ISPM15 is the industry standard regarding wooden pallets. The regulations state that all wooden pallets must be heat-treated prior to use and have an ISPM15 mark to show they comply. This proves that the wood has been heat-treated appropriately and is free of pest infestations.

The treatment designation that you should be the most cautious of is "MB." This stands for Methyl Bromide. Pallets with an MB stamp have been treated with a highly toxic pesticide which can be necessary in certain regions of the world where there are pests that can't be eliminated by heat treatments.
A Heat Treated pallet ( HT pallets) is a wood pallet that has been heated to a minimum core temperature of 56°C (132.8 °F) for at least 30 minutes to kill pests making it safe for export. The pallet is stamped with an official HT stamp to certify the heating process meets the ISPM 15 protocol.
