World (2024)

The World, also referred to as "The Map", is the main setting of Dinosaur Arcade.

World Map[]

The World Map is a feature that allows players to see their location in the world, with North at the top. Press the "M" key (on computers) to cycle between a minimap on the top right, fully viewing the map, or no map at all, in that order. You can scroll the map with your cursor, and small dots and icons can represent other dinosaurs, the player (the player is a red dot with an arrow in the direction the palyer is facing), Jerry, meteors, and other potentially interesting markers.

When the player views the World Map, they can resize the view to be smaller with minus button or bigger with plus buttonn, see Bonuses for Regions and Playables, and an arrow button to located the player's location.

Regions[]

Regions are different sections of the world with unique characteristics, which can include different atmosphere, vegetation, and appearance.

Wilderness[]

The Wilderness is the most common region found in the world, found in between larger points of interest. It makes up large forests and flatlands, and is home to many items, ranging from staple supplies to rarer, high-value treasure.

Redwood Forest[]

The Redwood Forest is a forested region found in the world, found between Mountain Passage, Flower Field, Wastelands, and Crater Lake. It makes up a large forest, and is home to many items, ranging from staple supplies to rarer spawns mainly in its caves, mayhem monuments, and sometimes around the forest floor.

Redwood Jungle[]

The Redwood Jungle is the former name of Redwood Forest. It was found in the world, found between Plains and Mountain Passage. It made the same forested area with hilly and rocky terrain.

Flower Field[]

The Flower Field is a flat region found in the world, found between Redwood Forest and East Mountain Passage. It makes up a large terrain filled with flowers, and is home to vegetation items, ranging from flowers and mushrooms to rarer spawns mainly in the mayhem monument and sometimes around the field, with a chance for hurricane daisies during hurricane.

Flower Field (sub-region)[]

The Flower Field used to be a sub-region of Plains found in the world, found inside the Plains. It makes the same terrain as current Flower Field.

Wasteland[]

The Wasteland is a flat, apocalyptic region found in the world, found West of Redwood Forest. It makes up a barren terrain filled with dead trees, a small lake, few vegetation, with hilly mountains surrounding it, and is home to some items, ranging from roaches and mountain plants to golden roaches and fruits, with a chance for cloud flowers and ankle biters during rain/hurricane and bloodmoon server events respectively, it is one of the areas where fossils spawn.

During Events, additional Wasteland locations may happen such as adding the Mysterious Alter during Halloween or renaming it to Christmasland during Christmas.

Great Lake[]

The Great Lake is a large, aquatic region found in the world, found between Mountain Passage and Great Lake. It makes a large body water with a tunnel connecting it to the other river areas filled with aquatic vegetation, and is home to aquatic items, ranging from common items to swim fruits and everlasting pearls which also spawn at rocky areas, with a chance for eerie log during great lake server event.

Paid Beta[]

The Great Lake used to be a sub-region of Spire Mountains found in the world, found inside the Spire Mountains. It made an aquatic region of the world with a single island in the middle.

Mountain Passage[]

The Mountain Passage is a rocky, mountainous region found in the world, found between Redwood Forest, Great Lake, and Flower Field. It makes 2 seperate mountainous territories between Great Lake with the West Passage is located between Redwood Forest and North-Western Great Lake, being accessible via a bridge unless using a glider or flyer while the East Passage is located between Flower Field and Eastern Great Lake, being accessible with terrestrial playables, and is home to vegetation, ranging from flowers and mushrooms to floating stones and other high-value treasure, it is one of the areas where fossils spawn with the East Passage having more fossils.

Paid Beta[]

The Mountain Passage used to be different during Paid Beta found in the world, found between Redwood Jungle, Western Swamp, and Tundra. During That Period, it had a sub-region called Summit.

Inlet Cliffs[]

The Inlet Cliffs is a mountainous, valley region found in the world, found between Redwood Forest and Volcano. It makes a single area filled with cliffs that between them have flat terrain with a connection to Redwood Forest with a log acting as a bridge, and is home to many items, ranging from shoreline collectibles to rare high-value treasure. It is one of the areas where fossils spawn.

Chunk Islet[]

The Chunk Islet is a single island sub-region found in the world, found East of Inlet Cliffs. It makes a single area with small vegetations, ant hills, with the ocean surrounding it from all sides, with Aquatic and Aerial subclasses Playables being able to access that region, and is home to a single item, rafflesia which is also found in mangrove swamp.

Mangrove Swamp[]

The Mangrove Swamp is a submerged, archipelagic region found in the world, found between Summit and Volcano. It makes 2 seperate archipelagos with the West Swamp being located near Summit while the East Swamp is located near Volcano. Between each side of the Mangrove Swamp, there's aquatic vegetation with an island in the middle to connect both sides, and is home to aquatic items, ranging from common items, to swim fruits and everlasting pearls, with a chance for gleaming roots during night or rain server event.

Western Swamp[]

The Western Swamp is the former name of Mangrove Swamp. It was found in the world, found between Plains, Mountain Passage, Tundra, and Spire Mountains. It made the same submerged, archipelagic region with islands around the map. Inside Western Swamp, there was the location of the Swamp Cave Danger Zone.

Volcano[]

The Volcano is a mountainous, volcanic region found in the world, found East of Mangrove Swamp. It makes a single area with some lava exposed, water cave with some rocks, a thin strip of land leading to its eastern part, paths of ingeous rocks, and is home to some items, ranging from common items, to a few rare items, with a chance for hurricane Daises during hurricane server event.

Summit[]

The Summit is a mountainous, snowy region found in the world, found West of Mangrove Swamp. It makes a single cold mountainous area filled with mountain ranges, with the mountain ranges covering the South Western part of the map, and is home to mountainous items, ranging from snowballs to crystal flowers and fossil collectibles.

Ancient Bay[]

The Ancient Bay is a coastal, flat sub-region found in the world, found South of the Summit Peak. It makes a coastal flast area with snow covering the bay, with the area being accessible by Aerial and Aquatic subclasses Playables, and is home to a few items, ranging from snowballs and crystal flowers to shoreline items.

Summit (sub-region)[]

The Summit used to be a sub-region of Mountain Passage found in the world, found inside the Mountain Passage. It makes the same terrain as current Summit. Inside Summit, there was the location of the Summit Cave Danger Zone.

Regions During Closed Beta[]

There are some regions that used to be in the game prior to version 0.4.4, they are no longer in the game.

Deep Jungle[]

The Deep Jungle was a forested region found in the world, found South of Redwood Jungle. It made a forested area filled with trees bigger than Wilderness, the region also used to consist of a long river system, and had a flat terrain. Inside Deep Jungle, there was the locations of the Green Safe Zone and Jungle Temple Danger Zone.

Plains[]

The Plains was a flat region found in the world, found between Spire Mountains, Western Swamp, and Redwood Jungle. It made a grass area with barely any vegetation with some rocky terrain included.

Tundra[]

The Tundra was a flat region found in the world, found between Western Swamp and Mountain Passage. It made a snowy terrain filled with snow covered vegetation, rivers, and some hills. Inside Tundra, there was the location of the Blue Safe Zone.

Frozen Lake[]

The Frozen Lake was a lake sub-region of Tundra found in the world, found inside the Tundra. It made a lake that used to be accessed by a small tunnel that allowed the player to see the lake under the ice by using Semi Aquatic Playables.

Spire Mountains[]

The Spire Mountains was a mountainous, hilly region found in the world, found between Plains, Great Lake, and Western Swamp. it made a mountainous terrain with hilly parts inside the region. Inside Spire Mountains, there was the location of the Pink Safe Zone.

Special Zones[]

There are multiple Special Zones in the World, with 3 types named Safe Zones, PVE Zones, and Danger Zones.

Safe Zones[]

The Safe Zones are Zones that have combat disabled.

Blue Safe Zone[]

The Blue Safe Zone is the most southern Safe Zone in the game, located between Summit, Mangrove Swamp, and Ice Cavern Regions.

Green Safe Zone[]

The Green Safe Zone is the most eastern Safe Zone in the game, located in the Flower Field Region.

Pink Safe Zone[]

The Pink Safe Zone is the most northern Safe Zone in the game, located between Redwood Forest and Wasteland Regions.

Player Vs Environment Zones[]

Player Vs Environment Zones are Zones that have combat enabled only for Battle Stone Users.

Crater Lake[]

The Crater Lake is a PVE Zone located in Redwood Forest, it has less features than other Safe and PVE Zones. Inside the Lake, are certain collectibles only found in Crater Lake

Mayhem Teleporter[]

The Mayhem Teleporter is a PVE Zone located in Summit, it has unique features from both Safe and PVE Zones. It is a floating orb located East of the Summit Peak.

Danger Zones[]

Danger Zones are Zones that have combat enabled until exiting the danger zone.

Ice Cavern[]

The Ice Cavern is a dangerous location found in the Mangrove Swamp region of the world, located via secret means in the southern Mangrove Swamp and visible in the cave. It is home to ice related collectibles only found in the Cavern, ranging from Snowball to Gold Dust, and of low value in both DNA and use; most notably the Snowball and Crystal Flower spawning only in this Danger Zone.

Forgotten Temple of the Thinking Man[]

The Forgotten Temple of the Thinking Man is a dangerous location found in the Mountain Passage / Great Lake region of the world, located via secret means in the eastern Mountains and hidden in the western, connected over the lake. It is home to certain collectibles only found in the Temple, ranging from Fire Sprout to Gallus Idol, and of high value in both DNA and use; most notably the Temple Sigil used to access the Abandoned Sanctuary.

Magma Chamber[]

The Magma Chamber is a dangerous location found in the Volcano region of the world, located via secret means in the eastern side of the Volcano, and visible in the entrance. It is home to certain collectibles only found in the Chamber, ranging from Fire Sprout to Huge Gem, and of high value in DNA and low value in use; most notably the Quartz and Gold Dust used to craft the Gold Top Hat.

Abandoned Sanctuary[]

The Abandoned Sanctuary is a dangerous location found in the Wasteland region of the world, located via secret means in the southern rocky area and visible at the entrance. It is home to certain collectibles only found in the Sanctuary, ranging from Mayhem Wire to Embryo, and of high value in DNA and medium value in use; most notably the Embryo used to craft Buddy Hats.

Days[]

Both Nighttime and Daytime lasts 15 minutes, but to survive a day it takes 5 Minutes which is 1/3 of the Daytime and Nighttime time.

Server Events[]
