How much does a CHEP pallet cost? ›

CHEP pallets vary in cost, depending on the price of lumber – but it fluctuates between US$25- US$35 a pallet.

Not to be confused with less reliable cheap pallets, our innovative design provides greater efficiency in pallet loading and unloading and our pallets are made from 100% reusable or recycled materials. Using a CHEP platform means a reduced risk of pallet failure and less product damage.

We own every blue CHEP pallet you see. No exceptions. So, it's illegal to buy, sell, exchange, trade or discard CHEP pallets. If you find one, you can't sell it, but you can help us collect it.

The 1200 x 800 mm CHEP pallet is a general purpose platform that can be safely used for the loading, distribution and display of goods. In CHEP's recent analysis, white wood makes up to four trips, pooled wood makes up to 30 trips and pooled plastic makes up to 60 trips before the end of its life cycle.

Blue or red pallets cannot be disposed of at RCs. The dye used to colour the pallets is toxic which means they cannot be recycled. Also, because they are company owned and rented out, they are commercial waste. Blue pallets, known as CHEP or GKN CHEP pallets, are owned by CHEP.

Any sale, trade or secondary usage of CHEP pallets is strictly prohibited. How do I exchange blue pallets? Blue pallets are not exchanged. CHEP will pick them up for free and put them back into circulation in the supply chain.
