The Civil Service Commission conducted a training/workshop on CODE OF CONDUCT AND ETHICAL STANDARDS to officials and employees of NIA Regional Office 3 and Bulacan-Aurora-Nueva Ecija Irrigation Management Office (BANE IMO) on November 29, 2016 at the NIA Region 3 Farmers Training Center, Tambubong, San Rafael, Bulacan.

The facilitator, Ms. Myza D. Maglaqui, Sr. Human Resources Specialist of the CSC Region 3, discussed the provisions stated in the Republic Act No. 6713 “An Act Establishing a Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees, To Uphold the Time-Honored Principle of Public Office Bearing a Public Trust, Granting Incentives and Rewards for Exemplary Service, Enumerating Prohibited Acts and Transactions and Providing Penalties for Violations Thereof and for Other Purposes”.

The focus of discussion was on the 8 Norms of Conduct of Public Officials and Employees which were a) Commitment to public interest, b) Professionalism, c) Justness and sincerity, d) Public Neutrality, e) Responsiveness to the public, f) Nationalism and patriotism, g) Commitment to democracy and h) Simple living. After the lecture forum of the resource speaker, a role playing workshop was conducted. Eight groups were formed given each a norm to portray.

Each group very satisfactorily played the roles relevant to the norms assigned by the facilitator. Citations and awards were given to the best group. Each group played well, but still there is a better group and the best role player which was selected by Miss Maglaqui.
