Typically, you can buy pallets for cheap directly from Amazon or from its official b2b platform Amazon Liquidation Auctions. The more you buy from these platforms, the cheaper the costs.

Amazon sells its liquidation pallets through several platforms, including its own Amazon Liquidation Auctions. Additionally, there are other third-party liquidation websites like Direct Liquidation, BULQ, and Liquidation.com that partner with Amazon to sell these pallets.

Pallet sizes will always play a major role in determining the sellback value of your used pallet supply, and the general rule here is that standard sizes like 48×40 and 48×45 will have higher sellback values as compared to custom sized pallets that are less useful for other businesses.

You should assume that any painted pallet is owned by one of the large pallet rental companies. The most common colors seen in the U.S. are red (PECO) and blue (CHEP). These pallets are never discarded by their owners and it is technically illegal for them to be used in noncommercial applications.
